SPN 210: Conversational Spanish - Movie Review
This was an assignment for my Conversational Spanish class. The assignment was to write a review for one of your favorite movies, and I chose to write about the movie "Despicable Me." SPN 212: Hispanic Civilizations Final Essay - RISD This paper was my final exam for my Hispanic Civilizations class. The assignment was to visit RISD and look for Latin American works that are similar to the ones we have studied in class, and to write a comparison about the artistic movements in which they came from, the themes, and the historical and societal contexts that influenced the artists. This paper is an analysis of Wilfredo Lam's "The Eternal Presence" and Pablo Picasso's "Guernica." SPN 321: Survey of the Spanish Literature This poem was part of an assignment for my Survey of Spanish Literature class. The assignment was to write three creative pieces that were influenced by the works we had read. This poem was one of the three pieces I had written that was inspired by the poem "Canción de pirata." SPN 321: Survey of the Spanish Literature - Temas del Siglo XXI This was an assignment for my Survey of Spanish literature class. The assignment was to analyze two themes of Renaissance era and how they were exemplified in the works we had been reading in class. I chose to write about the themes of death and the gap between social classes and how they were represented in "Las Coplas por la muerte del maestre" de Santiago don Rodrigo Manrique, the sonnets of Garcilaso de la Vega, "El Libro de Buen Amor" and "La Vida de Lazarillo de Tormes y de Sus Fortunas y Adversidades." SPN 370: Antropología del Deporte en España - Research Project This was our final research paper for my Anthropology of Sport in Spain special topics class that I took while I was abroad that I wrote with my friend. The assignment was to pick a theme that we discussed in the class and research it academically, as well as use field-experience and community research to supplement the paper. We chose to write about how grassroots soccer programs for youth have developed in Seville and the benefits they bring not just for the participants, but also the city. SPN 370: Teoría y Práctica de los Derechos Humanos - Volunteer Service Reflection As part of my Theory and Practice of Human Rights course that I took while I was abroad, I worked with an organization called Asosciación Atención Laboral y Educativa a Familias Sevilla (ALEF) that was devoted to helping families that were socially excluded in Seville. This is a paper that goes into more depth about social exclusion in Spain and the volunteering that I did during my semester abroad. SPN 370: Teoría y Práctica de los Derechos Humanos - Midterm Paper For our midterm, we had to write a research paper on a particular theme that we had covered in teh class. I chose to argue about the necessity of needing a philosophical justification to guarantee human rights for everyone. SPN 370: Historia Cultural de España - Final Paper I began my semester abroad by taking an intensive two-week course about the culturally history of Spain and how that history is alive in Seville to this day. We had the opportunity to go on field trips to different historical sites each class to apply what we learned in the classroom. This was my final paper that discussed how we can learn about the history of Spain through architecture. |
